Today, Jared lives in Miami, where he founded Postal Capital, a quantitative trading firm. But he was back on campus last week to cheer Dustin on as he led the boys varsity soccer team to a win at home. The two have never lost touch over a 12-year journey built on mentorship, friendship, and St. Andrew's pride.

This past summer, that mentorship took on a new dimension. Dustin spent three months interning with Jared at Postal Capital as a Futures Trading Intern, gaining hands-on exposure to how Jared and his team navigate the futures market. But the internship taught him more than technical skills: Dustin came away with a deeper understanding of the psychology behind trading, learning firsthand how patience, discipline, and the ability to manage emotions through both gains and losses are just as critical as market knowledge itself. 

That guidance is a fitting extension of the mentorship Jared has offered since Dustin's kindergarten year - one that will come full circle this spring when Jared returns to Washington National Cathedral to watch Dustin graduate in June.

The Lion-Cub Program, which has since expanded to include K-5 and 7-12, continues to impact the lives of students in every division at St. Andrew’s. In its current form, kindergarten students are paired with seventh-graders and stay with students in that class until they Lions graduate, which coincides with the Cubs concluding their time in the Lower School. After a year of increasing independence and acclimation to the Middle School, they then re-enter the program as Lions in the seventh grade, mentoring younger students of their own.
