Transforming Education: St. Andrew’s in 2027

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School was founded in 1978 to realize each child’s academic, artistic, athletic, and spiritual potential. That transformative purpose has been the catalyst for our growth and success. St. Andrew’s has risen from 38 students in a church basement to almost 600 students on two vibrant campuses today.

In the past decade we have added our Lower and Intermediate Schools and dramatically expanded and improved our campuses. We have created our internationally recognized Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning, powered by the creativity of our faculty and the partnership of our university researchers. We have become trailblazers in diversity, design thinking, and service learning, and leaders in the application of Mind, Brain, and Education Science to elementary and secondary education.

In 2017, St. Andrew’s brims with pride, potential, and innovation. As we plan for St. Andrew’s next level of educational leadership and growth, we affirm our mission to know and inspire each child in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service. We are enthusiastically committed to teaching and demonstrating--both locally and globally--that academic challenge and student well-being are the complementary foundations of educational excellence. In the bold and entrepreneurial spirit of our founders, we proudly cast this vision for our next decade:

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School will be the destination school for research-informed teaching, learning, and leadership.

St. Andrew’s will realize this vision through the following six strategic imperatives:
St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is a private, coeducational college preparatory day school for students in preschool (Age 2) through grade 12, located in Potomac, Maryland.
