Thank you for your interest in St. Andrew's! We have modified our admission process for the 2021-22 school year, due to Covid-19 and related considerations. All visits and interviews will be conducted via videoconferencing, and campus tours may not be available depending on local conditions. We will not require admission testing for the 2021-22 school year. Please see more details below, and contact the Admission Office with any questions at admission@saes.org or call 240-477-1700. 

Important Admission Deadlines

We use Ravenna to manage our application process.  
After completing the form, you will have the option to register for any upcoming events.

For Preschool I and II

List of 4 items.

  • Apply

    You may submit the online application at any time prior to the deadline, along with the $50 application fee.  

    After the deadline, we will continue to accept applications on a space-available basis. Please contact the Admission Office for guidance at 240-477-1695. 
  • Interview

    A half-hour interview with one or both parents is required. You can schedule online via Ravenna or by calling 240-477-1700, or by emailing admission@saes.org. Additional date options and times are generally available if you call or email. Interviews will be conducted via videoconferencing. 
  • Visit

    The required student visit for pre-school lasts about 20 minutes and may take place before or after you decide to apply. Visits will be conducted via videoconferencing.
  • Additional Requirements

    In lieu of an in-person student visit, parents may be asked to submit additional information so that we may better get to know your child. These requirements will be discussed during the parent interview.

PreK- Grade 5

  • Additional Requirements

    K-5th grade applicants will be asked to submit samples of a math project, writing project, and art project that your child has completed in school. We prefer to receive these materials prior to the parent and student meeting/interview.

    Prekindergarten applicants may also be asked to submit additional information so that we may better get to know your child. These requirements will be discussed during the parent interview.

    WISC/WPPSI (optional): If your child has completed the WISC/WPPSI within the past 2 years, you can send those results to admisson@saes.org. We find these assessments helpful to have a more full understanding of your child’s learning profile, but they are not required for admission. We will give equal consideration to applications with or without WISC/WPPSI results.

Grades 6-8

    2020-21 on-campus visits are currently not being scheduled. We hope to offer student visits in the winter or spring. Please contact the Admission Office for more information. 
  • Additional Requirements

    In light of the challenges presented by Covid-19, St. Andrew's will no longer require admission testing. Applicants must submit ONE of the following choices. All options will be considered equivalently and we encourage you to choose the option which best represents your interests/strengths:

    1. Essay: Please write an essay (3-5 paragraphs or approx. one page, with an opening thesis statement, 1-3 paragraphs in support, and a closing statement) on the following topic. The mission of St. Andrew’s is “To know and inspire each child in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service.” What does this mean to you? Or, tell us--what inspires you? Students should complete this essay on their own without assistance. We want to hear your perspective! Essays can be submitted via Ravenna or emailed to admission@saes.org.

    2. Project: Please send us a brief video or photos of a project that you completed, and of which you are particularly proud. This could include an art portfolio (please send photos only, no original artwork), a science project, a design project, a video of a concert or musical in which you performed--anything that represents your original work. Please include a written description of the project (no more than one page). Projects can be emailed to admission@saes.org.

    3. SSAT or ISEE results: If you have taken the SSAT or ISEE, you can submit the official results, which must include the writing sample. Both assessments will be offered in 2020-21 with in-home and testing center options available. Register at
    www.ssat.org or at www.iseetest.org and ask for the scores to be sent to St. Andrew's Episcopal School (SAES).  The SSAT school code for SAES is 6266. The ISEE school code for SAES is 211222.
  • Transcripts

    St. Andrew’s requires grades from the current marking period (quarter or trimester), as well as grades from the previous two years. Please complete the transcript release form and give it to your child's school. Transcripts can be sent via email or mail directly to the Admission Office. The transcript release form can be found on Ravenna, or downloaded here.
  • Recommendations

    A recommendation from your child's current Math and English teacher is required.
