Dear Pre-K Families,

What an exciting and successful first couple of weeks back to school!  Even though school is a little bit different this year, the students love getting back into the classroom, both in-person and virtually.  They enjoy reconnecting with one another, making new friends, meeting their teachers, and enjoying the new classroom. Over the past two weeks, the students focused on familiarizing themselves with the class routine and schedule.  We played outside on the exciting new playground and enjoyed the beautiful weather together.  We also discussed and developed special agreements for our classroom that will keep everyone safe, happy, and healthy throughout the school year.  We could not be more proud of our Pre-K students' ability to wear their masks and keep a safe "bubble" distance throughout the day.  During afternoon Distance Learning, the students read books that reinforced our morning lessons and worked to complete a variety of asynchronous activities through our online learning platform, Seesaw.  They enjoyed sharing thoughts and ideas during lunch-bunch and closing meeting. Students learned new Zoom routines and norms, practiced songs, and tried out fun breathing techniques.  Ask your student to show you the drain, balloon, roller coaster, and bunny breathing!

Other Important Reminders:

• Complete your Magnus app Daily Health Screener before 8:00 am to ensure you are in the system prior arrival.
• Send your child in daily with a backpack to help with transporting their water bottle and sending home materials from the classroom.
• Send in an extra face covering so that your child has at least one and preferably two extra face coverings in their school cubby. 
• Check the weather daily, and send your child with footwear and clothing that is suitable for the elements. 
• Display your dashboard sign during carpool. If you need additional signs contact Cyndi Seidel McKnight.
• If your child is absent or will be arriving late send email attendance@saes.org.
• If your child needs to be pick-up early or you need to make changes to the dismissal plan email dismissal@saes.org.
• Fill out the Pick-up Permission Form to approve additional carpool drivers.
