The Teaching and Research Pathway is structured to give colleagues at St. Andrew’s an opportunity to elevate their teaching methods and enhance curriculum and pedagogy school-wide. By integrating research-informed strategies, the pathway envisions a journey where colleagues develop personal and subject expertise and share knowledge. The positive influence of colleagues committed to this pathway influences their department, division, and beyond. The outcome is to consistently elevate the quality of teaching, learning, and overall school experience for every student.
The Design and Innovation pathway aims to equip colleagues with the skills and mindset to drive creative problem-solving and innovation. The outcomes encompass creative problem-solving, design thinking proficiency, entrepreneurial thinking, and a wide range of qualities that contribute to positive change and innovative solutions.
The Coaching and Mentoring pathway aims to develop participants into skilled coaches and mentors who can positively impact students' and colleagues' professional growth and contribute to a culture of learning and belonging. The Diversity, Equity, and Belonging pathway is designed for individuals who would like to pursue further growth, encompassing culturally competent leadership, inclusive communication, equity advocacy, the inclusion of student voices, and knowledge of equitable policies and practices. The School Leadership Pathway will help prepare St. Andrew’s faculty and staff for various leadership roles that promote positive outcomes for our students, colleagues, and school. Participants will focus on developing strong communication skills for various situations, best practices for creating a culture of relational trust, belonging, and growth, mentoring and supporting others, and setting, benchmarking, and achieving institutional vision and goals.
St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is a private, coeducational college preparatory day school for students in preschool (Age 2) through grade 12, located in Potomac, Maryland.
