Athletic Training

Our Athletic Trainer cares, treats, and evaluates injuries that occur at St. Andrew's. When a student athlete is injured, they go see the athletic trainer. The athletic trainer communicates daily with coaches about the status of the injured player, refers student athletes to doctors and teaches students how to prevent injuries.

We're Here for You!

St. Andrew's students can stop by the Athletic Trainer's office any time to have an injury treated or evaluated. We also have a team of doctors who support the Athletic Trainer and are available to you!

Dr. Samuel Sanders serves as St. Andrew's Team Orthopaedic Surgeon. You may have heard him on ESPN radio. He has worked for the NFL and NHL. He has offices in Silver Spring, Rockville, and Germantown. St. Andrew's students and their families get priority appointments any weekday and Dr. Sanders will be on campus one to two times a week (this often eliminates the need for a follow-up office visit). He is also a great resource for referring students to other medical professionals like neurologists and cardiologists.

Dr. Polun, foot and ankle surgeon, also has priority appointments for St. Andrew's students. Offices are in Potomac and DC.

Marshak Medical Group (Physicians) are also available for St. Andrew's students and student athletes.

Elizabeth Blumberg RD,LDN,CPT is available to help with nutrition and has appointments for our students.
