Middle School Students Celebrated during Eighth-Grade Step-Up Ceremony

The annual Middle School Awards and Eighth-Grade Step-Up Ceremony took place on Thursday morning as the school year came to a close for sixth- through eighth-grade students.
Awards were handed out to students across the division and all eighth-grade students were officially recognized as they matriculated from the Middle School to the Upper School.

Each eighth-grade student had the opportunity to share something meaningful about themselves and their Middle School journey. Reflections were shared by Anthony A. ’29, Imogen B. ’29, and Adam H. ’29. The ceremony closed with Head of Upper School Ginger Cobb welcoming students to the Upper School.

Two students in each grade received the Saints Awards, which is bestowed upon students who deserve special recognition for their consistent acts of service, graciousness, and kindness during the school year. In the sixth grade, Adam C. and Nicole S. received the honor while Anya B. and Ezra S. were recognized in the seventh grade. The two eighth-grade students to earn the Saints Award were Phoebe C. and Perry S.

Additionally, three other eighth-grade students were honored during the event. Excellence in Academic Achievement Awards were given to Jayna B. and Daniel C, both of whom demonstrated outstanding effort and performance in their core subjects. Finally, the Head of School Award, the highest honor in the Middle School, was presented to the member of the eighth grade whose personal achievement and contribution to the Middle School merited special recognition. Aaron S. was granted the Head of School Award by St. Andrew’s Head of School Robert Kosasky.
