Every single Grade is a joyous moment, however 5th Grade is the year your child celebrates the last year of elementary school and begins to grow into a young adult. It has been exciting meeting the 5th Graders this past week and sharing their enthusiasm for the various activities. We spent this week developing essential community agreements, which will set the foundation for our learning journey and the ways and methods we interact with one another. A theme that kept recurring was the variety of different emotions that were at play and how they found a common ground to keep moving forward with the activity. We also started exploring St. Andrew’s core values of community, growth achievement and leadership and the connections that can be made with the Episcopalian Identity.

These next couple of weeks will have a heavy focus on pre-assessments and strengthening our agreements. Students have had some tech classes introducing them to their iPads and our learning platform, Canvas. Thank you so much if you have already sent back the iPad agreements. Please note the deadline is this coming Monday, September 12. This promises to be an exciting year and are looking forward to meeting you on September 22 Back to School Night.
