Girls Indoor Track & Field
The St. Andrew’s Girls Indoor Track and Field team welcomes athletes of all levels with an emphasis on self-improvement. Members of the team learn the essentials of speed and endurance training, strength building, stretching, proper nutrition, and racing. The coaches tailor workouts to the individual needs of the team members. They adjust workouts to ensure they are challenging enough to produce improvement but not so challenging as to cause injury. While it is the coaches' goal to provide students with a healthy, collegial and fun way to spend their winter, they also encourage athletes to strive for both individual and team success.
During the course of the season, all team members compete regularly at various indoor venues, while Varsity caliber athletes attend major relay carnivals like the Maroon and Black Relays at Episcopal High as well as major invitationals, like the Private School Indoor Championships.
St. Andrew’s graduates have gone on to compete at NCAA Division I and Division III schools, such as Bucknell, Cornell, Hamilton, Gettysburg, and William and Mary.
