Potomac Village Campus Programs

List of 9 frequently asked questions.

  • What is the registration process?

    • Online registration with payment by credit card or check is available at www.saes.org/summer_programs.  Paper forms may downloaded and submitted by mail or in person at any time.  
    • A $35 registration fee (after May 1 the fee will increase to $85) and a $100 deposit are due at the time of registration.  Registration fees are non-refundable.  The $100 deposit is applied toward program fees and is refundable if withdrawal takes place before May 1 or if a program is canceled by SAES. The remaining balance is due no later than May 1.

    • Enrollment confirmations will be immediate with online registration, or within 10 days after mail-in or drop-off receipt.

    • Checks payable to St. Andrew’s Summer must include student’s name in memo.

    • There are no refunds for partial attendance or withdrawal after May 1.

    • St. Andrew’s reserves the right to cancel programs for any reason, including, low enrollment.  Parents will be notified via email when programs are canceled.  They may also check the website www.saes.org/summerprograms for updated cancelation lists.  We will be happy to assist in helping students select another St. Andrew’s program or refund fees promptly. 
  • Where do I drop off and pick up my child?

    • Carpool drop-off takes place on the playground side of the building 5 minutes prior to the start of camp. Please enter the carpool lane from Glenolden Drive. Your child will be greeted and removed from the car seat by a summer staff member. 
    • Pick up will also take place on the playground side of the building. 
    • If you wish to walk your child in or pick up early from camp, please park and proceed to the preschool wing entrance near the playground, where carpool takes place. 
  • Does my child need a lunch?

    Full-day students at the Potomac Village Campus – should bring a bag lunch, drink and snack.  Refrigerators are NOT available nor are vending machines.

    NOTE: The Potomac Village Campus is “NUT SAFE” and policy prohibits ALL foods with nuts or nut products.
  • Do you offer Extended Day?

    Postoak Campus - Open daily for a fee for students age 2-grade 8 from 7:30 – 9 a.m. and from 3 - 6 p.m.  During morning sessions students read or play games.  During afternoons students enjoy a rotating schedule of activities including movies, games, puzzles and free play.  Drop-ins are permitted for afternoon sessions.  For the safety of everyone please note: if preschool, elementary, intermediate or middle school students cannot be picked up or dropped off within 10 minutes of the start or end of their programs, they will be signed in to the Extended Day Program and parents will be billed the Drop-In rate.  Parents MUST come into the extended day location (Postoak Campus, Library) to sign out for the day.
  • What should my child wear?

    All children should wear washable comfortable clothes. Shoes should be securely on the feet at all times. No flip flops, crocs, or other non-secured sandals, please.
     
  • Is there a rest/nap time for my child?

    Children staying for both the morning and afternoon camps will have a short rest/nap time in the afternoon camps.
  • Can I still register for more programs?

    Yes! Go online to www.saes.org/summerprograms and follow the link to online registrations. Then, open your original registration and choose additional programs.
     
  • How will my child transition from extended day AM care to morning, afternoon, PM care and/or the shuttle to Postoak campus?

    The summer staff will be aware of each individual child’s program schedule and will accompany every child to their next location. For those who will take the shuttle bus between campuses, staff members will personally hand off the child to our staff driver who will, in-turn, personally accompany each child to the next staff member.

  • What do I need to send in with my child each day?

    Students attending academic classes should bring pens, pencils, and notebooks. Calculators are required for some mathematics sessions (see catalog descriptions). Students registered for all day programs should bring a bag lunch, drinks, and a snack. A refrigerator is available for storage as are vending machines with drinks and snacks.
  • What should my child wear?

    All students and campers should wear casual, comfortable clothes. Casual summer clothes such as shorts, t-shirts, and sneakers are welcome. The school building is air conditioned so a light jacket/sweatshirt is suggested.
  • What is the attendance policy?

    Attendance is checked daily.  Please call the school at the appropriate campus when a student is unable to attend.
     
     
  • Where do I drop off and pick up my child?

    All vehicles must enter the campus through the Postoak Road entrance. Carpool drop off takes place at the main circle directly up the hill and adjacent to the red brick academic building. Parents should park and accompany new campers on the first day. Enter the building through the doorway marked St. Andrew’s where summer staff will assist with program locations. Pick up will also occur at the main entrance or athletic fields. Outdoor camps will be on the fields or tennis courts.
  • Can I still register for more programs?

    Yes! Go online to www.saes.org/summerprograms and follow the link to online registration. Then, open your original registration and choose additional programs.

  • Do you offer academic classes for credit?

    High school students who wish to receive academic credit for courses taken at St. Andrew’s must request and receive permission from their academic advisor or home school BEFORE registering.  Academic grades will be sent to the home school if requested in writing to the Summer Program Office. 
     
  • Can my child receive community service credit?

    St. Andrew’s is certified by Montgomery County to provide programs that offer community service credit to Montgomery County Public School students. Our programs have a fee to participate.  Students who wish to receive credit must request and receive permission from their home school BEFORE registering.
  • Can my child park on campus?

    Yes. Any camper that is a licensed driver may park on campus.

  • Do you offer Financial Aid?

    Financial aid is available for existing and incoming St. Andrew’s students for all academic programs for credit or enrichment at the same percentage as the student’s 2016-17 tuition grant.  Financial aid recipients MUST complete registration online or via paper form, including the $35 registration fee and then call or email the director to inform her that you would like your financial aid applied.  You will receive a statement of account with the appropriate financial aid deducted.  The remaining balance is due by May 1.
