Seven Students Win Scholastic Art Regional Awards

Seven St. Andrew’s artists were honored with Scholastic Art & Writing Northeast Region awards including two Gold Key Awards. Joy Reeves ’18 and Ashlynn Smith ’19 were recipients of those top awards.

Reeves earned Gold in the Editorial Cartoon category and Smith picked up her Gold in Design. Reeves and Smith also won Silver Awards – Reeves for Comic Art and Smith for Drawing & Illustration.
 
Perhaps the most decorated St. Andrew’s artist was Gillian Sanford ’18. Sanford won two Silver Awards, in Digital Art and Photography, and four separate Honorable Mentions in Photography.
 
Other honorees are Fasade Fagoyore ’19 with Silver in Painting, Jennifer Freedman '19 with Silver in Drawing & Illustration, Avery Johnston ’19 with an Honorable Mention in Design and Julia Ziffer ’18 with an Honorable Mention in Drawing & Illustration.
 
Reeves and Smith will advance to the National Competition by virtue of their Gold Key Awards. Those will be announced this spring.
