CTTL Leaders Publish New Book, Neuroteach

Every parent wants to know that their child has teachers who are committed to being the best teacher they can be - teachers who understand how students learn and integrate that knowledge into the classroom.
With their new book Neuroteach, Glenn Whitman, St. Andrew’s Dean of Studies and Director of the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL), and Dr. Ian Kelleher, Science Teacher and Head of Research for the CTTL, look to solve the problem teachers and school leaders have in knowing how to bring the growing body of educational neuroscience research into the design of their schools, classrooms, and work with each individual student.

“I am so proud of Glenn and Ian and the compelling book they have authored,” said Head of School Robert Kosasky. “Their scholarship and commitment to St. Andrew’s students radiate from every page of Neuroteach. Every member of the St. Andrew's faculty has benefitted from training in Mind, Brain, and Education Science, and they work hard to integrate this research into their classroom. Ian and Glenn are at the forefront of this innovative movement and are prototypes of the teacher-researcher model.”

Kelleher has been at St. Andrew’s for more than a decade while Whitman has been at St. Andrew’s for nearly two decades. Together they help bring the latest in Mind, Brain, and Education Science research to the CTTL and get that research into the hands of St. Andrew’s teachers.

Neuroteach is available on Amazon. On Nov. 16 at St. Andrew’s, you can hear the authors speak and purchase a signed copy of the book.
