Senior Awards Assembly Recognizes Student Accomplishments

St. Andrew’s held its Senior Awards Assembly on Thursday morning recognizing the achievements of the Class of 2021. Awards were handed out for excellence in academics, arts, athletics, leadership, and equity and inclusion.
Sheila Maith, Chair of the Board of Trustees, presented the school’s highest honor, the William Way Award, named for the school’s Founding Board Chair. Fiona Gallagher (Georgetown University) received the award for her overall excellence in the classroom and achievements in athletics, performing arts, and advocacy, among other accomplishments.

Head of School Robert Kosasky presented the Head of School’s Award to Cameron Behram (Cornell University) and the David Mayhood Award to Mutunga Lamin (Howard University). Middle and Upper School French Teacher Chantal Cassan-Moudoud received the Finneran Faculty Scholar Award, which is granted annually to one St. Andrew’s teacher who embodies excellence and commitment to professional growth and is considered the highest recognition a St. Andrew’s teacher can receive. Behram was named the valedictorian while Gallagher was named salutatorian.
