Preschool Substitute Teacher: Job Description
In the Lower School program at St. Andrew's Episcopal School the Preschool Substitute Teacher is responsible for curriculum implementation and classroom supervision in the 2-year old, 3-year old, and prekindergarten classrooms. The Preschool Substitute will work collaboratively with the full-time homeroom teacher to co-teach lessons to whole and small groups and support transitions. This position reports to the Head of the Lower School. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities:
• Implement course objectives, outlines, and lesson plans for the appropriate course of study, following curriculum guideline and school requirements;
•Maintain discipline and a suitable learning environment based on the principles of Responsive Classroom in the classroom and on the playground;
•Model and teach rules of conduct;
•Evaluate informally student performance and communicate effectively with homeroom teacher;
•Keep attendance and all other records as required by the School
•Supervise lunch, recess, and dismissal
•Collaborate constructively with colleagues
•Perform other duties as assigned
•Support the Episcopal identity of the Institution
