Upper School: Gr. 9-12

St. Andrew’s Upper School creates opportunities for growth and personal discovery in the realm of academics and character.

Our faculty are committed to providing excellent teaching to our students. Our own original research with Research Schools International, which is led by members of the faculty at Harvard Graduate School of Education, shows a relationship between happiness, intrinsic motivation and academic achievement. We are mindful of this as we try to shape the students who have critical 21st century skills - collaborative, innovative thinkers with an eye on social entrepreneurship.

Here are some of the things St. Andrew's students have to look forward to:

  • Demanding classes including AP and Honors classes.
  • The opportunity to be challenged academically, but not overwhelmed by workload or external pressures.
  • Extensive college counseling that strives to find the perfect fit for each of our students.
  • Challenging athletic practices and games.
  • Performing arts opportunities (acting, technical theatre, intrumental and vocal music, and dance).
  • Variety of choices in art classes.
  • Participating in Class Cup Competitions that enhance school spirit.
  • Wide variety of club offerings and the opportunity to create your own.

St. Andrew's is an empathetic, caring community.

Our faculty, staff and administrators support students in a caring environment. This atmosphere allows our students to:
  • Try new things - You never know what might become a passion!
  • Learn to be your own best self-advocate - Ask questions, challenge your peers, hound your teachers.
  • Grow from your mistakes. Upper School comes with peaks and valleys that translate into differing levels of success - it’s all part of the learning process and happens by design.
