Service
learning is more than picking up a hammer or a paintbrush for a
few
days at the end of the school year. At St. Andrew’s, service
learning
is
taught in the classroom.
Teachers help students gain a better
understanding
of
the humanity and dignity of the people they help.
Our service
learning
program strives to be a transformative experience for students.
The
program teaches students that they have a responsibility not only
to
themselves but to the greater community and to the world at large. It
reinforces
our Episcopal value of serving others.
As a school, we recognize
the
imperative to deepen this important program and further enrich our
students’ lives.
