School Counselor

St. Andrew’s seeks a school counselor to serve as a resource to students in grades PS - 8. 
This full-time position could be split into two part-time positions, so all interested candidates are encouraged to apply. 
 
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have at least a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology. Applicants who have 3-5 years of experience working with children in an education setting, an advanced degree, and are licensed to practice in the state of Maryland are preferred.  This position is an exciting opportunity that requires flexibility, good humor, and the ability to work effectively as a team member. Responsibilities: 
  • Supports the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional health and well-being of all students through individual, small group, and school-wide programming. 
  • Supports Division Head and Curriculum Coordinators in reviewing and implementing social-emotional curriculum. 
  • Meets with the Health Support Team on a weekly basis.
  • Meets with the Upper School Counselor who coordinates counseling services. 
  • Conducts classroom observations as needed.
  • Consults with and serves as a resource for teachers, staff, and parents regarding the developmental needs of students.
