Middle and Upper School Arts Teacher

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD seeks a part-time Visual Art Teacher to begin August 19, 2024.
The mission of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is to know and inspire each child in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service.
 
Position: St. Andrew’s Episcopal School seeks a creative, collaborative, and visionary arts educator to teach middle and upper school visual art. Candidates for this part-time position in our Arts Department should have specialization in Upper School 2D Foundations (Drawing and Painting) and Middle School general visual arts.  Depending on the candidate’s interests and the needs of the school, the position may include additional opportunities such as student academic advising, coaching, and/or other extracurricular activities.
 
Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA) or degree in education, preferably with a specialization within the arts. A minimum of 2 years experience teaching 2D art in a middle and/or high school environment is desired. Our community is diverse and applicants should possess a high degree of cultural competency and demonstrated success in working with students from diverse backgrounds.Applicants should be skilled in the integration of technology as a tool to advance student learning.  General flexibility, good humor, and the ability to work effectively as a team member are also essential.
