St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD seeks a Technology Support Manager.

Position: The responsibility of the Technology Support Manager is to be the primary point of contact to provide technical support for all IT-related matters. The school implements a 1-to-1 Mac laptop program for all students and employees. We use Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe, and numerous other software programs. This full-time 12-month position reports to the Director of Technology.
Essential Job Functions:
Technical Support
Respond to help desk requests in a timely manner
Troubleshoot reported problems
Provide user technical support and desk-side assistance
Communicate professionally and ensure end-user satisfaction
Monitoring hardware, software, and system performance metrics and responding to alarms promptly
Provide support to all members of the community for computers and AV system
Create, update, and maintain IT documentation
Prep computers and accounts for all users
Train new employees on all tech issues
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (in a computer-related field)
5+ years experience as an IT Specialist preferably in a school setting
Specialized Knowledge
Hardware knowledge of Macs
Some understanding of Jamf and the ability to grow knowledge
Understanding of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory
Application support
Client operating systems (e.g. Mac, Windows, Linux)
Network design and administration
Google Workspace
Skills and Abilities
Strong leadership qualities and mentoring skills
Excellent skills in communicating both orally and in written form
Automation and process improvement skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc
Able to work both independently and in a team setting
Some understanding of Jamf and the ability to grow knowledge
Committed to continuous learning and improving by acquiring industry-standard certifications and keeping up with new technology
Security conscious
Implement software image deployment and maintenance
Implement hardware repairs for warranty and out-of-warranty computers, printers, and peripherals
Maintain hardware asset inventory
Provide support for electronic whiteboard (Smartboard) and projector hardware/software
Provide AV support for school functions
Deliver one-to-one and group training
Assist with other projects/tasks assigned by the Tech Director

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Required to use the computer throughout the day
Work will be performed from the campus
Will move throughout the campus during the day
May occasionally have to lift UP to 30-pounds, climb ladders and work under desks
Work is generally performed year-round, Monday-Friday (7:00am to 3:30pm or 7:30am to 4:00pm) with occasional work nights or weekends
Provide level 1 and 2 support for iOS, Mac OS X, and Windows client software and related programs
