AP Biology 'Regaled' by Guest Speaker Dr. Tarkington

The AP Biology class hosted guest speaker Dr. Mary Anne Tarkington.   As a urologist who specialized in kidney trauma, among other renal misfunctions, Dr. Tarkington regaled with class with stories about her experiences, interspersed with a hefty dose of kidney anatomy and why she chose the specialty.
Dr. Tarkington is mother of alum Lucas Schmidt and freshman Kirstin Schmidt.

Since the class is currently studying homeostasis, especially with regards to maintaining water balance via the kidneys, Dr. Tarkington's presentation proved timely, informative, and very entertaining.  Thank you, Dr. Tarkington, for sharing your expertise with us!
