You're Invited To A 'Mindfulness' Parent Education Night

Parents and Lower School students are invited to join presenters from Minds, Inc. on Wednesday, October 14 from 6-7:30 pm to participate in an interactive and enlightening presentation on the use of mindfulness exercises. Mindfulness is a practice of awareness and observation, in an effort to pay attention to the present moment, with intention, in a non-judgmental way.

Thirty years of empirical research shows that regular mindfulness practice can increase attention, executive functioning (processing information and learning), emotional regulation, stress reduction, empathy, and a variety of positive effects.

Parents and students will engage in hands-on exercises that are designed to gain an understanding of the mindfulness practices that teachers are learning to implement in the classroom, and will leave having identified some practical strategies that can be used to improve connectedness and centeredness at home and school.

Food and refreshments will be provided. Please R.S.V.P to Lloret Moussa at lmoussa@saes.org
