Brain Awareness Week in the Intermediate School

From colored brain hats in Community Meeting to optical illusions in the classroom morning messages, Brain Awareness Week in the Intermediate School was a time to learn and celebrate our body's most complex organ.

One particularly fun piece from the week that will continue going forward is our "Brain Break Stations." Throughout the Intermediate School building, short kinesthetic brain break activity stations are set up. Similar to a quick trip to the drinking fountain, a student might take a quick trip to a brain break station to do ten jumping jacks or practice a tricky hand movement sequence, with the goal being that he returns to the class refocused and energized. Come stop by the Intermediate School building to get some ideas for brain breaks to incorporate into your work day!
