St. Andrew's Begins 2012-2013 School Year
Posted September 5, 2012
Wednesday marked the first full day of the 2012-2013 school year on both the Potomac Village and Postoak Campus. Students were greeted by Acting Head of School, John Holden, who challenged them to take care of themselves in his annual "Fresh Start" speech given in the morning meeting.
For the new 4th graders it was their first opportunity to sit amongst the Postoak student body as an intermediate school student. Which was an experience topped only by their introduction to Chef Colin's masterful lunches.
Marking the beginning of its 35th year, St. Andrew's has many exciting things planned for the parents and students this week.
The next event this week is the Upper School Back to School Night which is Thursday, Sept. 6.
Following Back to School Night, all students and parents are welcome to attend Opening Chapel at the National Cathedral Friday, Sept. 7.
Also, St. Andrew's varsity soccer teams will attempt a repeat of last year's victories in the 16th Annual Francisco E. Hope Garces Memorial Soccer Tournament. The tournament begins Friday, September 7th and concludes Saturday, September 8th.
Finally, the Lower School will have Popsicles on the Potomac Village Playground on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10:30 a.m.
