Virtual reality is no substitute for the reality of St. Andrew's
19.2-acre campus in Potomac, Maryland. In September 1998 the
community dedicated the campus and cut the ribbons on a 75,000
square foot classroom building. We encourage you to take an
opportunity to come visit us.
A two-story library, flooded with light, is at the heart
of the classroom building. It houses 14,000 volumes, an audio-visual
classroom, a periodical reading room and several computer
research stations. The librarian and two assistant librarians
acquaint students and faculty with traditional printed sources
and with the online catalogue and numerous online databases.
The full complement of classrooms includes three state-of-the-art
Upper School laboratories and prep rooms, plus rooms outfitted
for Middle School science.
A multi-purpose theater/assembly/lunch space features a stage
and light/sound booth. There are two studios for the visual
arts, including ceramics wheels and a kiln, plus a full darkroom.
The St. Andrew's gymnasium has a full-size basketball court.
Athletic facilities include a weight room and a state-of-the-art
dance studio, dedicated in the Spring of 2000. The studio
doubles as a wrestling room.
The spring of 2000 saw the dedication of four tennis courts.
There are two full fields, which serve for softball, baseball,
lacrosse and soccer.
