Giving

Why is Annual Giving important?

St. Andrew’s counts on a healthy Annual Giving campaign to augment its primary source of income — tuition and fees. Tuition and fees provide 88% of the $14.5 million operating budget for 2007-2008. The goal for Annual Giving this year is to add $700,000 to the operating budget. That sum – growing every year – adds up to the difference between what is and what could be, providing for improved faculty benefits, enhanced resources, new programs and exciting opportunities. Annual Giving makes a big difference.

St. Andrew's actively seeks annual support from local foundations for scholarship assistance and other programs. However, the school's success and growth depend primarily on support from members of its own community — from parents, alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni, and friends. We hope that each member of our community will consider the school's financial needs and will participate in one or more of our fundraising activities.

Parent Annual Giving

Current parents' participation in St. Andrew's Annual Giving campaign is gratifying. Their gifts not only signal support for this quality education but also acknowledge understanding of independent school finances. St. Andrew's (which, like other independent schools does not receive any financial support from federal, state or local governments) puts annual gifts immediately to work in the classroom. That's why the goal is always 100% participation by current parents.

Alumni Annual Giving

Alumni Annual Giving is your chance to give back to your school. True, you no longer directly benefit from what goes on in the St. Andrew's classroom, but the strength of the education you received came from other supporters' gifts. Now is your chance to touch the current generation.

Grandparents and Other Friends of St. Andrew's

Students' visions for themselves grow out of the example of all the lives that touch their own — neighbors and family friends, mentors, grandparents and other relatives are all a part of a young person's education. We are all united in our commitment to educate the next generation; we are grateful for your contributions to the part of the effort that occurs at St. Andrew's.

Faculty/Staff

In 2007-2008, St. Andrew's faculty number 67 full or parttime teachers, 95% of whom contributed to annual giving this year before school started. Over a third of our faculty have twenty or more years of teaching experience; over one tenth have taught for 20 years at this school. Half of the faculty have contributed to the strength of this school's education for more than five years. Faculty and staff gifts to Annual Giving say to the rest of this community, "We believe in the importance of our work here and invest ourselves in it."

Planned Gifts

A planned gift to St. Andrew's can benefit both you and St. Andrew's. For you, planned gifts generate income for life or for a specified period of years; convert low yielding assets into a higher income stream; obtain significant income tax deductions and reduce or eliminate capital gains and estate taxes. For St. Andrew's, your planned gifts help ensure that the kind of education we are known for will continue in the future.
