January 15 is the deadline for the application, fee, interview, and all supporting materials.

Applications received after the January 15 deadline will be considered if space becomes available.

Application

We encourage families to submit their application and $50 fee online.  The application is required for the admission interview.  Apply online here.  (Access a PDF of the 2013-2014 paper application by clicking on the section, "Application Forms and Handouts".)

Tour and interview

For applicants to Middle School, both the student and the parent(s) are required to tour and interview.  Please call the Admission Office to schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

Recommendations

Applicants to Middle School should submit two recommendations (one from their currentEnglish teacher and one from their currentmath teacher), unless the applicant has only one main classroom teacher. In the latter instance, one recommendation is sufficient.  Please have your child's teacher(s) send their recommendation(s) directly to St. Andrew's.

Supplemental letters may also be submitted, including any recommendations from former teachers, teachers of other subjects, extracurricular activity advisors, and/or coaches.

Transcript

The transcript must include current trimester or semester grades and test scores in addition to grades from the past two years. Please sign and submit the transcript release form to the registrar of your child’s current school and any previous schools (if applicable).

Testing

For applicants to Middle School, St. Andrew's requires either the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) and the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). For more information, go to www.ssat.org or www.iseetest.org.  In order to meet our admission deadline, we suggest that you register for the November, December, or January testing dates for either test. The St. Andrew's SSAT code is 6266 and the ISEE code is 211222.

Students whose primary language is not English are also required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).  The St. Andrew's TOEFL code is 2618.

If the applicant has had any educational or psychological testing done in the past 3 years, other than standardized testing such as the SSAT, submit a full copy of the test report and recommendations along with the other application materials.

Student visit

Applicants to Middle School are invited to spend a morning visit at St. Andrew's on specifically designated days to shadow the grade to which they have applied.  These optional visit days, which begin in November, may only be scheduled once the application and fee have been submitted.  Visits to Grades 7 & 8 typically run 8:15 AM - 12:20 PM and include lunch.

Parents of applicants to any grade are welcome to come and visit a class at St. Andrew's.  Please contact the Admission Office to schedule your visit.
