Graduation Requirements - Classes 2015 and beyond
Art – Four trimesters of art. One performing art course and one visual art course minimum.
English – Four years.
History – Three years of history which must include Global Studies, US/Euro I or AP European History, and US/Euro II or AP US History.
Language – Two consecutive years of the same language.
Mathematics – Three years: Must include the completion of Algebra I, Geometry or Accelerated Geometry, and Algebra II/Trigonometry or Accelerated Algebra II/Trigonometry.
Philosophy/Religion – Three trimesters of philosophy and religion, which must include Service Learning 9, World Religions, and either Bible (for students who enrolled after 8th grade) or an elective.
Physical Education/Health –
Grade 9: Two trimesters on a sports team or non-competitive activity offered on campus ** and one trimester health class.
Grade 10: Two trimesters on a sports team or non-competitive activity offered on campus**.
Grades 11 and 12: One trimester on a sports team or non-competitive activity offered on campus** and a one trimester health class taken either junior or senior year.
** Participation in off-campus sport/activity may take the place of an on-campus sport/activity.
Science – Three years. Biology plus two other lab science courses.
Senior Paper – Under the supervision of a faculty advisor, seniors are required to write a 15-page fully documented research paper, using primary and secondary sources.
Community Service –
Grade 9: 20 hours of community service completed during the 9th grade Service Learning course.
Grade 10 and 11: 20 hours of community service each year, completed prior to beginning the senior year.
Grade 12: 60 hours of community service completed during their last two weeks of school in May of the senior year.
