| The Education Center supports faculty as
they develop teaching strategies for the classroom. |

St. Andrew's supports students of varied abilities-it's
a measure of the respect we talk about in our philosophy statement.
Supporting students is a shared responsibilitiy-the academic
support team for each student includes his or her teachers,
advisor, grade level academic dean, division head, school psychologist
and the Director of the Education Center.
All students learn best when they feel safe, appreciated,
and understood. The Director of the Education Center is a
resource for teachers and department heads to support students
who are especially challenged by the academic program.
| As Director of the Education

Academic Accommodations Available to Students
As
an institution committed to honor and uphold the
diversity of individuals in our community, St.
Andrew's Episcopal School recognizes both the
variety of learning styles and the presence of
learning challenges among our students. Within
the context of the school's mission to provide
a college-preparatory academic program and to
help all students meet the highest standards,
we work to serve the needs of students with learning
differences.
A student in need of accommodations must have
on file a complete report of psychoeducational,
educational, or neuropsychological assessment
administered within the past three years. Parents
of students with no current information from testing
should consult with the Division Head, the Academic
Dean and the Director of the Education Center
to determine the need for testing, the type of
assessment to be done, and the recommended diagnosticians.
The full testing report must be made available
to the School before accommodations can be put
into effect. The Director of the Education Center
will provide a summary of the information from
the testing to the student's teachers, advisor,
and grade level academic dean. The expectation
is that parents will collaborate with the School
in implementing recommended accommodations.
