Upcoming Diversity Events

  • February 2, 2011- DC Area MD Diversity Conference – All Souls Church in DC (Sponsored by East Ed)

Twelve SAES Middle Students will attend the Middle School Diversity Leadership Conference at All Souls Church in Washington, DC. Hosted by non-profit, East Ed, this conference invites delegations from all over the DC Metro area to join in conversation about issues of diversity affecting their schools.

  • February 11, 2011- LS Family Heritage Night (Lower School)

Plan to Attend the First Lower School Family Heritage Potluck We look forward to hosting the first Lower School Family Heritage Potluck on Friday, February 11 from 6 - 8 PM in St. Francis Hall. Created as a bookend to our intensely popular Italian Night in the fall, the dinner will encourage us to celebrate our diverse culinary heritages as a community, whether you are from South Africa, France, or Texas. The evening will be constructed “potluck” style so that parents and children will work together to explore their ethnic and cultural heritages in their kitchens. This is a fantastic way to celebrate the great diversity among us as well as define what makes St. Andrew’s such an inclusive community. We encourage families to start thinking about what they might want to cook (or purchase, for the more culinary-challenged!) to bring to the event. We will have great food and music -- and maybe some dancing.

  • February 17, 2011- DC Area US Diversity Conference- All Souls Church in DC (Sponsored by East Ed)

  • March 2, 2011- Taste of SAES (MS/US)

For the four year in a row, the school held its Taste of St. Andrew’s to great attendance and acclaim in MacDonald Hall. With over fifteen countries represented by students from the Middle School through the 12th grade and faculty members, the event lived up to its name as being representative of the great cultural diversity that exists at St. Andrew’s.
